Industrial companies can also embrace sustainability
Sustainability is important to us — for current and future generations.
Climate protection plays a central role in this. Our photovoltaic system makes an important contribution: by generating our own electricity, we reduce external energy demand and significantly cut our CO₂ emissions.
In 2024, we installed just under 1 MWp on the production hall roof as a first step. In 2025, additional expansion followed on the shipping hall roof and the adjacent meadow area, adding a further 0.6 MWp. In total, around 1.6 MWp from more than 3,700 PV modules is now in operation. This will allow us to generate roughly 25 per cent of our total electricity requirements ourselves.
At weekends, we also use the solar power generated for our new nitrogen plant (N²). There, pure nitrogen is produced, stored in pressure vessels, and supplied as cutting gas for our laser systems. We can produce around 1,600 tonnes of N² per year, reducing daily truck deliveries to a minimum.
What does this mean for the environment in concrete terms?
With 1.6 MWp of installed PV capacity, we generate an average of around 1.6 GWh of electricity per year. This allows us to avoid around 560 tonnes of CO₂ annually – equivalent to the annual electricity use of roughly 450 three-person households or the emissions of about 400 cars per year.
