Sustainable energy for current and future generations
Sustainability is a central component of our business activities. With the photovoltaic system installed in 2025, KOHL GROUP POLSKA is sending a clear signal for climate protection and responsible energy supply. By generating our own electricity, we are reducing our reliance on external energy sources, significantly lowering our CO₂ emissions, and at the same time strengthening our security of supply.
The photovoltaic system has an installed nominal output of 905 kWp and generates around 870 MWh of renewable energy annually. This enables us to cover around 25 percent of our annual electricity requirements ourselves and sustainably reduce our dependence on fluctuating electricity prices.
The system consists of two central areas: an open-space system covering over 5,000 m² of green space behind the production facility and a roof system covering almost the entire 8,000 m² production hall. A total of more than 1,900 photovoltaic modules are installed, which generate solar power efficiently throughout the day.
Under optimal conditions, the system achieves a maximum output of over 880 kW. The electricity generated is primarily used directly on site; we feed surplus energy into the public power grid.
What does this mean for the environment and society?
With the photovoltaic system, we avoid around 520 tons of CO₂ annually. This corresponds to the electricity requirements of around 300 average households. In this way, we are making a measurable contribution to climate protection while investing in a sustainable, future-proof energy supply for our production sites.
